WHY(s) of Coaching

WHY(s) of Coaching

Why do we look for an opening to coach?

Change can cause anxiety about the unknown. In this breakdown, we begin to question our situation and approach. In navigating this type of intentional or unintentional change, we are questioning our way of being. In a reactive mode we are either offensive or defensive about our positions. This creates a pattern and gets us stuck and overwhelmed.

Why should you engage a coach?

A coach can provide the container to listen deeply, bring insights and distinctions and guide the conversation into exploring the situation holistically for long-term benefits. In a safe and trusting environment, we feel open and encouraged to answer the WHY behind our challenge before we jump to WHAT and HOW to resolve it.

Why coaching enriches mentoring?

A mentor guides and inspires towards a similar career path. Training allows upskilling, improves existing skills or learn new skills. Coaching is co-creating a unique path for your specific situation and co-learning to develop your inner strengths, explore blind spots, practice vulnerability and build a self sustaining growth mindset.

Why coaching engages the whole of you?

Coaching is an inquiry into the person’s – mind-heart-body and brings attention to all domains of life – work, relationships, security, wellbeing, socio-cultural environment, and tools that create your world. It is a  process of transformation focused on a breakdown in one domain which intentionally brings positive changes in many other domains of your life.

Why do we need a DNA – Develop, Network and Action (plan) for Change?

Embrace life-long learning to build a self-sustaining and self-generating cycle of renewal and transformation and thrive in navigating transitions.

We all have a natural affinity to raise our potential, make a positive impact and create a legacy that resonates with our values. Yet, we seem to flounder to find our true calling and embrace our purpose. The reason is our approach is getting to a set destination or outcome. In reality, finding a purpose is a process – a journey with pivots, jolts, rough landings, and falls, rising over challenges and embracing opportunities.

It is even harder in today’s world when we don’t see a straight path to achieving purpose. We are in constant Change mode. Change was once a gradual phenomenon that happened at major life transitions. Our purpose was simple to have a straight-line career path,  build strong community and maybe raise a family. It was accepted as a trifecta for a meaningful existence. However, for better or worse, these familiar structures have crumbled in a globally connected world and are replaced by new ones every minute.

We are looking for more from ourselves, our organizations, and our partners. We live in complex times when we have strong preferences and are constantly asked to judge ourselves and others against these opinions. To quieten this noise and find the right signal towards your purpose, we encourage clients to adopt this broader definition: “Meaningful existence is what sits well with our inner scorecard, irrespective of the structures and judgements of society. There is no place for “ideal or perfect,” just a life well-lived, aligned with our core values and unique instincts.”

As no one formula works for most of us, we have to engage in the hard work of finding what matters most to us. And then build the necessary structures to adapt, thrive and stay relevant in today’s socio-economic environment. We encourage clients to dig deeper, accept their plural identities, their complex roles/responsibilities and stretch out of our comfort zones to build strong narratives as leaders.

We co-create custom tools and practices in support of their individual and organizational needs to uncover their values, voice, and instincts; accept their position with wholeness; build presence to match your goals; stay authentic in this quest; develop resilience, abundance, and creativity; exhibit autonomy of thought and action and build strong networks and tribes in support of their purpose. Essentially, This is the DNA – Develop, Network and Act (plan) to adapt to Change with clarity and conviction.
